SMURFS ARE BACK!

Yes it is true!

The first image from Sony Picture Animations' The Smurfs was leaked on the internet yesterday.  The movie is in its preproduction phase and will be featuring 3D animation.  The film is on track to be released in theatres December 2010.  Sony is keeping the Cast under wraps, but there are rumors that Comedy-veteran John Lithgow is said to play Gargamel, sworn enemy of the Smurfs, and perhaps Julia Sweeny as well.

We have not heard much from Smurfland since reruns from the animated TV series stopped running in 1990.  It should be interesting to see how Sony Picture Animations portrays these fun-loving characters.
From the Scarface reference in the headline on the poster... looks like this movie may have some adult friendly innuendos, puns and what-not.  :)

Eclipse Update: Amazing scene from book Confirmed!

That's right Twilighters, another scene from the book is already being filmed as we speak!
What scene am I speaking of?  Glad you asked, well it is the scene from Eclipse where Jasper Hale (Jackson Rathbone) spars with Emmet (Kellan Lutz) as he is teaching the Cullens how to fight against newborn vamps.

I can't wait to see Jasper and Emmet duke it out on the big screen!  Also, it has been said that we will also see Jasper in human form and newborn form in the 1860s during the Civil War!

Jackson stated:
"There's a lot of cool scenes where Jasper trains the Cullen family on how to fight the newborns. He gets to train Emmett — and Emmett is a born fighter — so he's telling Emmett all these techniques, and Emmett thinks he could just best Jasper [during their sparring]. Jasper ends up getting the best of him, because it's a war mentality, not just a street brawl. It's about thinking ahead; it's a chess game. "

SO EXCITED! The director better not leave anything out from the book!

ATTN: Anime Lovers! Cowboy Bebop coming to the Big Screen

It has been confirmed, signed, sealed and delivered that 20th Century Fox is going to develop a Live-Action movie adaptation of the anime series Cowboy Bebop which comes on Adult Swim in the US.  It is confirmed that Keanu Reeves will be playing the laid-back, sarcastic bounty hunter Spike Spiegel.  I think they got the character right when they signed Keanu for this role...   Just add some more fluff to his hair and you got Spike.

Now calm down all you Anime lovers... only one cast member is confirmed, we still got a lot to go.  The actual film is said to be released in 2011.

Rob Zombie's new fetish... REMAKES

I just found out that Rob Zombie (Director/Musician/All Around Loon) has signed on to remake the 1958 classic horror The Blob.

The rocker will direct, produce and write the new/old horror flick.  The original film is about an alien who absorbs humans with its red blob of jelly-like body and grows and grows trying to destroy a small town.  Zombie has a different approach...

Funny, doesn't he do whatever the hell he wants in ALL is movies?  House of 1,000 Corpses or as I like to call it, Texas Chainsaw Massacre meets Killer Klowns from Outer Space????  Devil's Rejects was slightly better, but still just all over the place and EFFED up.  Did anybody like these movies???  Really?

I haven't seen the new/old Halloween II (which I don't understand why the SECOND Halloween is being remade?????) but I have a feeling I won't be impressed.

Rob, you must redeem yourself and scare the S@$* out of me!!!

Batman 3 News! Fox as Catwoman?

okay here's the deal, we all now know (thank to Michael Cain's slip up in April) that The Riddler is going to be in the next installment of the new Batman franchise.  However, will we see a Catwoman?

Rumors have been flying around that Transformers star, Megan Fox is said to be in discussion for the role as the leathery vixen.  I could totally see that, but I don't know if she's firey enough as Michelle Pfeiffer, who was the first Catwoman in the Batman films.  Megan + Leather + Catlike relfexes = Drooling boys...

Here is the dirty truth before you get all excited...

According to Megan's Rep, "Megan is a hige fan of the Batman movies and of director Christopher Nolan, but these discussions have not taken place..."

Sorry to disappoint, but Catwoman's role is still up in the air and up for grabs.

So who should it be?
  • Megan Fox?
  • Rumored Rachel Weisz?
  • Halle Berry (again? UGH)?
  • Jessical Biel (she's in shape! lol)?
  • Anne Hathaway?
  • Jessica Alba (another superhero movie?)?
  • Rosario Dawson?
  • Angelina Jolie?
  • HMMMMMMMM?????????

Craig and Jackman on Broadway?! SOLD

May not be exactly MOVIE news, but it does involve two movie star HUNKS!

Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman are ready for the debut of thei upcoming Broadway play A Steady Rain.  Here is a first photo of the hot duo where they play Chicago cops with more troubles than you can imagine.  Jackman, who plays Denny (a racist, violent patrolman), already won a Tony in 2004 for The Boy From Oz.  Craig, a London-stage veteran is making his Broadway debut as Joey (a recovering alcoholic with a gentler soul).  Rehearsals just began and I can't wait to hear more news about the play!!

Who's up for seeing Wolverine and Bond on Broadway???

I hope they are topless!!!!
