Singing and Pig's Blood... unlikey combo?

Look out Sweeny Todd, you may not be the only musical now that has vast amounts of blood around!  That's right, the most infamous musical flop, Carrie, is being revived!

The show only ran for five perfomances in 1988, but set a new standard on the Broadway Crap Scale... and they lost $8 million.  OUCH!

Rent, Avenue Q and Westside Story producers Jeffery Seller and Kevin McCollum are behind the idea of bringing horror back to the stage.  Next month, they will be putting on a six-figure workshop of the muscial based on Stephen King's novel about a damaged teenage girl with telekinetic powers.

Let's hope thenew version of the musical won't make the same mistakes as the original...
I never saw it, but apparently the high school gym set looked like a Greek temple, the students wore togas, and there were boys in leather slaughtering pigs...  umm no thanks!

So... let's get it right this time eh?  King wrote this novel without the idea of Caesar in the back of his head or The Gods... k?

Brad Pitt and Josh Brolin may 'Go Like Hell'

20th Century Fox is pulling out its checkered flag for its new racing flick, Go Like Hell.  Car-lovers and gear heads are lining up for this film that is based off a recently optioned book called, "Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari, and their Battle for Speed and Glory at Le Mans".

Set in the 1960s, the book tells the true story of Ford Motor Company's attempt to beat the exotic euro auto manufacturers at their own game by hiring a team to beat them in European racing.  Now in the 60s... there wasn't much safety equipment as there was today, so that means the drivers were pretty much daredevils as they were professionals.

Was most interesting about this project is the big names that may involved with it.  Producer Lucas Foster was dishing out all the plans for the film on Adam Carolla's Podcast.

Lucas says, “I have a lot of interest from big actors. It would shock you the telephone calls that have come in from people.” In particular Foster says, “There’s a lot of conversation with my good friend, Brad Pitt.”

He further commented that he has been talking to Josh Brolin and mentioned Russell Crowe, Matt Damon, Eric Bana and Daniel Day Lewis as other actors of interest.

Scream Awards: New Moon Behind the Scenes Footage

In case you missed it, Spike's 2009 Scream Awards was pretty much badass...

Who doesn't love an unorthodox awards show thats designed to recognize comics, horror and sci-fi genres?!  Aside from the awards given were many "world premier" trailers and footage of upcoming movies and so on.  I think the most anticipated footage was the behind the scenes look for The Twilight Saga: New Moon actor Taylor "hunkychild" Lautner aka "Jacob Black" presented after he accepted an award for Twilight.

The clip was all about the werewolves and had interviews from Tay Tay and is pack.  It was a great inside look to how the guys kick it in the woods.  :)

Here is the clip, in case you had something better to do last night than watch an amazing awards show...

Somewhat New-ish 'Alice In Wonderland' Trailer @ Scream Awards

So last night, at Spike's 2009 Scream Awards, a "WORLD PREMIER" trailer was shown for the upcoming Tim Burton classic remake, Alice In Wonderland.  However, it was pretty much nothing new... so I don't know where the term World Premier came from?

With only a couple new snippits added, the trailer is pretty much the same thing you've been seeing in theaters.  Unless you've been living under a rock and don't go see any movies in theaters, you didn't miss anything...

Just for you, here is the trailer...

Trailer: 'Invictus' finally shows its face

FINALLY!  One of the most unknown Fall movies (potential Oscar winner?) has finally released a trailer.  Clint Eastwood's Invictus trailer hit the web on Apple.com, and shows Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon playing South Africans.  Damon plays captain of the national Rugby team and Freeman plays someone he was born to play; Nelson Mandela.

The story is set after the end of apartheid and at the beginning of Mandela's presidency.  This uplifting story with added sports drama should give us a great insight into how that day felt to all of South Africa when the natioal rubgy team won the World Cup.  Seems that Morgan Freeman doesn't exactly need any help looking the part of Mandela... but I hear Damon's Afrikaans accent is coming along good!

Here is the trailer

'The Fourth Kind' Clip Reveals a Terrifying Close Encounter

The timing is slightly off for the film, The Fourth Kind to premier.  Halloween is this week and the movie look absolutely terrifying, but unfortunately it is being released in theaters November 6th.  :(

Luckily, we get little clips released online to scare, and entice us more.  In this clip, actress Milla Jovovich is frightened beyond belief by something that's "not an owl".  We know the film is based on fact.  Also, that in 2000, in the town of Nome, Alaska, there was a string of unexplainable disappearances (maybe alien related).  What we don't know is how the director, Olatunde Osunsanmi is going to spin this story and scare the bejesus out of America?!  I'm so down to see this!!

Enjoy

New Moon gets another TV Spot with Old Footage

So, if you're a hard-core New Moon fan or Twilighter... this is nothing new to you.  I'm afraid it's just the same old footage we've been seeing over and over.  But, you know what, it's about time Summit stopped releasing new footage!  I know at tomorrow's SCREAM Awards on SpikeTV, Taylor Lautner is going to reveal some new stuff... but ugh I'm happy that we're starting to see old scenes that way I can look forward to the movie when it comes out on November 20th.

Here you go:  New TV Spot #2

DeNiro and Stiller "Little Fockers" Set Pic!

Little Fockers is definitely happening!  The shoot is underway, and that means it's on its course for its June 30, 2010 release.  I bet we'll be seeing more set pics in the future.  Here's the first one so far... looks like Ben Stiller and his on set Daddy-in-law, Robert DeNiro are laughing it up between takes.  :)

Coen Bros. take on 'True Grit'

So, I aven't read the classic novel, True Grit, but I hear tell it's pretty good.  Chris Portis' novel is supposed to be adapted by none other than the Coen Brothers.  In case you didn't know, the Coen's directed The Big Lebowski, A Serious Man and the Oscar-winning adaptation of the novel, No Country For Old Men.  It is said that the brothers are already set on getting Jeff Bridges (yet again) for the role of the main character, Rooster Cogburn.  There is even talk of getting Matt Damon to play La Boeuf, who joins Cogburn on his quest to find the killer of a 14 year-old girl's father.  Josh Brolin is said to be in discussions to play the killer.  The original film, True Grit was made in 1969 and starred John Wayne... so I'm interested to see how Bridges plays this... Cogburn.

Now, like I said, I haven't read the book or seen the original film so I don't if these guys match the characters properly... but if the Coen's win awards for this film... they'd better say more at the Oscars than "Thanks".
