Robert Langdon Will Be Back!

Dan Brown's new thriller, The Lost Symbol, hit bookshelves mid-September and Tom Hanks... yeah he's already finished reading it! Of course, it was a given that he would finish reading the book right away seeings as he has played Brown's leading male, Robert Langdon twice already on the big screen (DaVinci Code and Angels & Demons).

" I just finished it last week.  Page-turner.  Dan knows how to weave a tale.  I was exhausted by the end of it." Hanks told MTV on the Where the Wild Things Are red carpet.  Hanks was all smiles as he tried to dodge any questions about the possibilities of Robert Langdon making it back to the big screen once more.

"I'd love to if they're going to do it..." he spoke when asked if he's spoken with director Ron Howard about adapting the book.  "They're incredibly fun movies to make and I think they're really fun movies to watch too... They're very intricate, very dangerous, steroid-pumped scavenger hunts and I think everyone likes to be in on the clues and the trail and the signs.  If they make it again, I hope they ask me, if they didn't... what did I do wrong?"

Potential Drag Role for Ryan Reynolds

So, the potential new role for the ever-so-gorgous Ryan Reynolds holds a big twist...  Variety used the term, "dude-in-drag comedy,"as if this genre has been around.  I can't remember the last drag comedy I've seen... Perhaps Tootsie?  Cause it sure wasn't Big Momma's House.

Yet, I'm sure if there is anyone that can still look hot in pearls and a dress, it's Reynolds, who (lets face it) can do basically anything these days.

Working Title tied for the comedy concept, which will be written by Allen Loeb, who wrote both Wall Street 2 and the Jennifer Aniston/Jason Bateman film, The Baster.

Hmm.. I know everyone is just wondering how the hell he's gonna act in drag?!

Roman Polanski to Finish 'The Ghost' Behind Bars!

So, in case you've been living under a rock... 76 year old, director Roman Polanski is still in swiss prison awaiting trial for those illicit sex with a minor charges from 1978 he ran away from ages ago.  ( I think if he gets out... he should a make a movie about this.. it's a 2 hour film all by itself!!!)

However, this isn't deterring Polanski from finishing his film we've been hearing about, The Ghost.  It is said that Polanski WILL finish the project... from jail.  Aceshowbiz reports, "he's already given instructions on the film's score." Well, if he can finish directing a film from behind bars... I say give this guy an Oscar for just being the most badass director yet... haha until Steven Speilberg finishes a movie from prison or lost at sea or whatever... Roman-- you got my vote!  Now, Let's just hope there aren't any reshoots...  :(

Word on how Polanski is communicating with composer Alexandre Desplat or any of the other post-production staff still isn't clear.  The film screenwriter, Robert Harris is even unsure...

"He can make his wishes known from his cell. I don't think he can make phone calls, but he can communicate. What people think of the film is another matter. Whether the film can rise above the circumstances in which the director now finds himself I don't know. We will test to the upper limits the notion that there's no such thing as bad publicity."

The film, starring Pierce Brosnan, Ewan McGregor, and Kim Cattrall is scheduled for a screening at the Berlin Film Festival this February, but I think the Director will be absent...  Poor Roman... the past always comes back to bite you in the ass.

Chris Pine Set to Play Iconic Role

It was announced earlier today that Star Trek hottie, Chris Pine is about to go boldy where Harrison Ford, Alec Baldwin and Ben Affleck have gone before-- the role of Jack Ryan.

Variety said that Pine has been set to play the CIA Analyst in a reboot of the series based on the popular Tom Clancy novels.

"Tom Clancy created an unforgettable character with Jack Ryan.  with Chris in this role, we've taken our first step in creating a re-boot that lives up to the successful lineage of the franchise," Paramount said in a statement Tuesday evening.

The iconic Jack Ryan role has already been played by Alec Baldwin in 1990's  The Hunt for Red October; by Harrison Ford in 1992's Patriot Games and 1994's Clear and Present Danger; and by Ben Affleck in 2002's Sum of All Fears....

Chris is currently working with Denzel Washington in Unstoppable, directed by Tony Scott. It's still unclear whether Pine will film the Star Trek sequel before of after filling his role as Jack Ryan.

Whoo hoo... sign me up.  I love these spy thrillers!

Meeting the Wild Things Family

So, Where the Wild Things Are is coming out on Friday and I can't wait!  I think we've all seen enough clips on the internet regarding this flick, but here's just one more where Carol (James Gandolfini) introduces Max (Max Records) to the gang of Wild Things.  Well, not all of them, but most of them..

You get to spend sometime with Judith (Catherine O'Hara), Ira (Forest Whitaker), Alexander (Paul Dano) and Douglas (Chris Cooper).

I'm telling you, I cannot wait to see this film!  I've been waiting since I was kid for a movie to be adapted from one of my childhood books! :)

SAWEET!

Kill Bill 3 Update! Uma Thurman Keeps Quiet!

Back in 2005, Quentin Tarantino told MTV News that we would have to wait a full decade until he revisited Kill Bill territory and brought back Uma Thurman's "Bride" back in the third film of the series.  " Uma's got to get 10 years older, the little girl has to grow up and everything!" he explained.

Well, MTV recently spoke to Thurman, who's around promoting her upcoming comedy, Motherhood, and they asked her if she's spoken with Tarantino lately about Kill Bill 3 since he's been talking up the third film to TV stations stating, "The Bride will fight again!"

"We did chat, we did chat!" she said.  " He has not finished the script.  I don't even know if's he's started it. Although, I got a taste of some of his ideas and they're really good, but that's all I can say..." she paused, "He has started to share with me what he was thinking and it's awesome!"

When asked where the characters of the Bride and her daughter were going be at in relation to the the story she simply cried, "I can't tell you!"

Well, she may be mum about Kill Bill 3 details, but we DO know that sh is definitely on board to reprise her role as the Bride.

Tommy Lee Jones to Direct Matt McConaughey!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tommy Lee Jones is ready for his next big gig behind the camera.  The Oscar-winner plans to direct and co-star in an adaptation of Michael Connelly's bestselling crime novel, The Lincoln Lawyer.  This isn't Jones' first barbeque in the director's seat though.  He had his directorial debut filming, Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada.  So here's hoping he does a fantastic job!  :)

This film is NOT about our 16th President, if that's what you were thinking.  Instead, it's about a criminal defense lawyer, Matthew McConaughey, who literally works out of his car-- a Lincoln Town Car (getting a visual?)  Used to handling small time criminals (ahem sound familiar? A Time to Kill perhaps?), his career does a 180 as he finds himself defending a wealthy realtor accused of murder.

Jones' role in this film is unknown, but it's very unlikely he'll play the part of the wealthy client since the novel describes him as a younger man.  Maybe he'll take on a small supporting role?  Perhaps the client-turned-driver?  Or maybe the private detective that works with McConaughey?  Who knows...

Seems like the two actors would be good together, they both lived in Texas.  Couldn't hurt right?

'New Moon' Footage at Spike's 2009 Scream Awards!

I must admit, I watch Spike like crazy... I know it's very "manly" of me, but hey, they show CSI all day on that channel during the weekdays!  I get my CSI fix there.  However, coming up on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, Spike will air their 2009 Scream Awards and you bet your ass I'll be watching!  :)

My two favorite vampire franchises, HBO's True Blood and Stephanie Meyer's Twilight already have several nominations in various categories.  However, the biggest news isn't their nominations against each other, it's what will be shown at the award ceremony.

The awards show will feature world premiere footage!  Why they are doing this less than a month away from it's November 20th release, I don't know... but I'm excited about it.  haha

Photobucket

I swear, reading the novels in the series just enhanced my obsession... thanks Stephanie Meyer... thanks.  I was already into Vampire movies and you just had to go and make it ten times worse for me!  haha

New 'Daybreakers' Poster

A very futuristic poster from Lionsgate's vampire-filled, sci-fi movie Daybreakers was released today.  It features Ethan Hawke as a researcher in the year 2019, where an unknown plague has turned the world's humans into vampires.  As the human race nears extinction, the vamps must harvest what remaining humans they have left in a futuristic, scary as hell "farm/lab".  Yet, there is always a twist; a covert group of vampires makes a tremendous discovery that has the ability to save the human race.

I'm down!  Hurry up January 8th!!!!!!!

'Eclipse' First Official Photo Released!

It's getting to be that time!  Official photos are now rolling in after much editing and tweaking... haha, but we got ONE!

To celebrate both,  The Twilight Saga: New Moon release in about a month and the wrap of shooting Eclipse; People Magazine is putting out a special collectors edition "New Moon" issue with an exclusive first look at Eclipse with 'Edward' and 'Bella' in a scene in their meadow (from the looks of it).  Twilighters are sooo thankful!

Photobucket
The issue covers behind the scenes photos and more of the upcoming flick, New Moon and the on/off screen chemistry between co-stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

"They're genuine,  and they're talented." Co-star and 'Bella' BFF Ashley Green said of the two.  "It's like a secret potion you can't pinpoint, but they both have it."

The edition has interviews with NM cast such as Taylor Lautner, Director Chris Weitz, and more.  Apparently, Kellan Lutz begs Stephanie Meyer to write more Twilight books!  :)

Inside there are posters, pictures and more and it's all available to you right now until November 30th!  :)

Go get'em!

'Breaking Dawn' Movie is Good to Go!

So all you Twilight Saga fans will be happy to know that the fourth installment, Breaking Dawn has been greenlit and set to be filmed in Portland, Ore.

Can you say, FINALLY!?
It's only natural that Breaking Dawn be filmed in Portland, cause the first film, Twilight was filmed there as well... aww how sentimental.

There is, however, a new production company, Sunswept entertainment, has been brought on board for the fourth film.

According to AB Media, "There will likely be quite a bit of tweaking to fourth movie (adaptation of the) novel in the series due to explicit sex and birth scenes to avoid an R rating...  Inside sources confirm that the movie may be filmed in two parts--The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I and Part II."

Although the split movie idea hasn't been confirmed by Summit, Stephanie Meyer said, " It would have to be made into multiple movies because it's hard to imagine it fitting into 90 minutes."

I must say, I knew that there was a possibility that this movie was going to be made cause you can't just cut us Twilight lovers off like that when we KNOW what is supposed to happen.  Yet, I was wondering how in the hell they were going to convey the sex and birth scenes sans explicits for the young adults...  hmmm.. almost makes me with this last novel was made strictly for adults... there goes all the juicy stuff and reality of it all... DAMN!

Angelina Jolie Eyeing Lead Role in The Tourist

According to THR, Angelina Jolie has been eyeing the female lead role in The Tourist, an action flick that until recently had Charlize Theron as the lead female ass-kicker.

Apparently, Jolie jumping in would mean the entire project has been recast.  Sam Worthington has replaced Tom Cruise as the male lead, and director Bharat Nalluri has jumped ship too.  Usually this whole cast-quitting thing aint good... but if Angie's on board, then this should be an A-list project.

I thought Angie was gonna be done with action flicks, she used to be the go-to girl for all the badass female roles in Action films (Wanted, Tomb Raider) , but I guess 6 kids and a hunky husband can't keep this momma from gettin to work and kicking some ass!  :)

Her people have not confirmed she's entirely set on this role, but there is a good feeling that we'll be seeing her kick ass in The Tourist and the Wanted sequel that she's SOMEHOW going to be a part of.

'Independence Day' 2 script written, FOX doesn't approve

Ronald Emmerich has been talking up doing an Independence Day sequel for quite some time... I'm sure he gets asked about doing a sequel every time he's at a press conference, but seriously... who wouldn't see this film?  The sheer length of time that has past just makes the idea more intriguing!   What happened to President Thomas J. Whitmore?  Or Cap. Steven Hiller or DAVE!?

Believe it or not, there is a script written, but it's been in Emmerich's back pocket for a while since FOX is still trying to figure out how to make this magic happen.  According to Latino Review, Emmerich says that the film is likely to happen with FOX, but they have not figured out Dean's and my deal along with Will Smith's deal... Will wants to do it in some sort of package they can live with.

This may shock some of you, but FOX has actually had the balls to suggest doing the film without Smith!  WTF?!  Emmerich definitely had something to say about this outrageous idea.

" I said to FOX, Will is essential for us, for this movie and actually for the audience too.  And so, it's in Limbo and lately the studios are fighting."

I don't know if this idea of a sequel is a good one or not... sure it leaves us curious about the aftermath of it all in 1996.  But, I don't know how Emmerich could actually make this film work.  Maybe it should just be kept in the 90s.

What do you think?

Solve Jigsaw's Puzzle for a Saw VI Sneak Peek!

So, on Coming Soon... there is a little something for Saw franchise lovers.  Yes, it's none other than a puzzle!  (go figure)  I don't know about you, but I for one know for a FACT that Saw VI movie is going to be sold out for a the last week of October.  This Saw franchise has just outdone itself and I feel we will sadly never see the end of Jigsaw's legacy...

Personally, I don't enjoy watching people be tortured to death by solving puzzles for 2 hours.  Call me crazy, but I thought a horror film was supposed to SCARE you, NOT make you wanna throw up in your popcorn bag on on any poor bystander...

If you want to play some more of Jigsaw's games please visit the movie's website

Anyhoo... here is the puzzle for you Torture Porn fiends...

Robert's Interview

The Sydney Morning Herald had an interview with the Vampire stud, Robert Pattinson.  Calling the article "Interview with a Vampire"...  the Herald asked Rob how he's dealing with all the hysteria surrounding him 24/7 and he answered with a simple, "All right, I hope.." while runing his hand through his hair (like he always does)

The Herald also asked about how he's going to deal with New Moon fans and hysterics that follow it...  Here is an excerpt

"To be honest, I still don't really understand what's going on," he says. "Like yesterday, I was having lunch down the road. We were in this place for a couple of hours and suddenly there was like 400 people outside on the street. It was just so nuts and it's like that all the time now."

If Pattinson hasn't come to grips with the global hysteria by now, how will he cope when New Moon is released next month?

"When the second one comes out, then I'll see how I am. Mostly I can ignore things to quite a big extent and kind of pretend they're not really happening," he says, sounding eerily calm.

"I just don't take any of it seriously. It's just a job and while it's a job I love, girls scream out for Edward, not Robert. I still can't get a date."

Pattinson has been peddling this line for months. He won't fess up to dating Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella. Perhaps he's under studio instructions to appear single? It probably boosts ticket sales.

The real reason Pattinson is so calm is simple: "I'm not the lead in the second film. Taylor [Lautner] is." He grins idiotically. "I appear in Bella's dreams. So I'm in it but the focus is not on me. I just have significant moments at the beginning ... and the end. So I'm more of a supporting role in this one, which is why I felt so free. I didn't have to deal with any of the bullshit of the first one. I don't have to hold the movie or worry about the fans. I think I did it better without all those pressures."

I don't know about yall, but when I shout for Rob, it aint for Edward.. it's for him all the way! haha

I got your date Rob!

J.J. Abrams Talks 'Mission Impossible: IV' and Star Trek 2

At a press conference held in honor of Star Trek's DVD/Blu-Ray release... director J.J. Abrams dished out a few details about Mission Impossible: IV and Star Trek 2.

Abrams was acting coy about details on Star Trek 2, but he mentioned he was excited about working with his Trek universe's alternate timeline.  When asked about doing the film in 3d, he stated that he was looking at the technology after being "wowed" by Avatar footage.

Leonard Nimoy's involvement was brought up, but Abrams couldn't comment cause the story is still in development... he's not sure if there is a need for Nimoy to reappear.
J.J. Abrams is currently juggling Mission Impossible: IV alongside Star Trek 2 and is having high hopes for a fan-serving cameo...

"I just got a call that Peter Graves is in great shape, which would be a very bizarre bend in the space-time continuum, for obvious reasons," he said.--MTV Movie Blog

Peter Graves was Captain Clarence Oveur from the two Airplane flicks.  Graves was also IMF director Jim Phelps in the original TV series.  Wonder who will play the villian this time?  Perhaps Jack Nicholson?  Micheal Cain? I'm just guessing these guys cause Phillip Seymour Hoffman was just random...

Full 'Toy Story 3' Trailer and posters!

The full Toy Story 3 trailer is now online!  Of course it's been in theaters, but now the trailer is available for your full enjoyment online...

The story is about what happens when Andy stops playing!  Andy is getting ready to go to college, and Woody and Buzz (Tom Hanks and Tim Allen) knew this day woud come, but not so soon.  How will they handle it?  Looks like it's off to Daycare for the dynamic duo...

Here

Enjoy! I can't can't wait... haha

Taylor Lautner plays on the Beach

So pictures were released on MTV Movie Blog of Taylor "makemeacouger" Lautner frolicing on the beach in our favorite get up... bare chest and cut off jeans.  :)

Don't know exactly what scene this is for in Eclipse, but he definitely looks as playful as a dog (pun intended)     ;)

enjoy

'Couples Retreat' wins over box office and 'Paranormal Activity' shocks us all

In this Sunday's Box Office Report, we have:

1. "Couples Retreat" ($35.3 million)
2. "Zombieland" ($15 million)
3. "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" ($12 million)
4. "Toy Story" & "Toy Story 2" (3-D Double Feature) ($7.7 million)
5. "Paranormal Activity" ($7 million)

Universal's Couples Retreat took the number one spot this weekend and gained only half of it's $70 million budget back... I'm sure they'll break even soon.

Sony must be proud of Zombieland and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs earning 2nd and 3rd places with $15 million and $12 million repectively

The clencher is the 5th place honoree, Paranormal Activity.  Don't let the 5th place title fool you, this movie has done amazingingly well for such a low budget film that was only released in 159 theaters!!  Seems like this movie is going to reach wide release status soon thanks to its fans and eager horror lovers.

I still need to see this flick to capture the buzz forming around it!  :)
