Kudos to Those Who Slept Well After 'Paranormal Activity'

I recently saw the most talked-about ghost flick of the season, Paranormal Activity.  Let me just say, had it not been for the documentary fliming style and the night vision, I would've been completely content with another thriller flick.  HOWEVER, I was just simply freaked the hell out the entire movie.

The story is disturbing and the night vision shots are just plain scary.  Congratulations Oren Peli, you scared the crap out of me.  Normally I would sleep soundly at night, but after seeing this film I wake up at every creak, tap, AC power... you name it.  It's been a long time since I have not been able to sleep at night due to a scary film, so kudos...

The film focuses on a couple who is documenting their paranormal findings in their home for their own sake so they know for a fact they are not going crazy.  Micah buys a camera and records his girlfriend, Katy and his days throughout the day and night.  When things continue to go 'bump' in the night (UNDERSTATEMENT!), Micah feels its best to antagonize the "spirit" to get it to communicate.  After several pleads from his girlfriend to leave the spirit alone and turn the camera off, things take a turn for the worse and every belief they had about the other side is changed forever.

The film is shot documentary style and this increases people's ability to believe this film and all its glory is legit and the couple's house is possessed.   I suggest not seeing this movie alone and not sleeping alone afterward... I'm still trying to get over it!

Paranormal Activity Buzz!

So, instead of having no choice to see a film that we know is going to tank, low-budgeted Paranormal Activity is giving movie -goers the choice to decide if this film should be released everywhere.  The film has played in film festivals and has been released at "select" theaters.  Originally, the movie has only been showing at midnight at a few theaters, but since word of mouth has been growing, more showtimes in more cities have been released.

HOWEVER!  If the creepy film isn't playing in your hometown, Paramount is giving people the ability to "DEMAND IT" and after 1 million people do, a wide release will be in moton.  Right now, over 700,000 people have clikced the "DEMAND" button on the movie's website.

Shall we see a wide release of ths film?  Critics say it's well on it's way due to its scary documentary-style and incredible ability to creep the hel out of audiences all over.  The film is currently residing in Yahoo!s top 1,000 web searches.  Clearly, this low budget film is going to make more than it bargained for... hmmm still debating whether I should go see it.  I'm so into that Paranormal junk, but this looks like another Blair Witch Project-type of film.  Scary, but unsatisfying cause you know it's all fake.
